Mr.Review
Ска-бэнд Mr. Review был сформирован в Амстердаме в 1983 году-именно тогда встретились
основатели группы:барабанщик Roel Ording, гитарист Arne Visser ( в то время уже
игравшие вместе ) и вокалист - Dr.Rude . Все трое увлекались музыкой ска и реггей и ,
естественно, решили работать в этом направлении . Довольно скоро был найден клавишник ,
а затем и первый духовик группы - саксофонист Hans Hoffman.Изначально группа играла ,
в основном, реггей, но со временем переключилась на ска. Музыканты играли кавер-версии,а
затем и собственные песни,которые писал Arne Visser, ставший основным автором группы.
Mr.Review много играли в Голландских клубах, делали демо-записи и в итоге подписали
контракт с британской судией Unicorn Records,выпустившей их первый альбом "Walking
Down Brentfordroad". На Брентфордрод в Кингстоне (Ямайка) располагалась легендарная
Studio One - пожалуй самая известная студия в эпоху раннего ска и реггей.Многие великие
музыканты записывались там и поэтому Mr.Review считают, что на Brentfordroad их
музыкальные корни.
Успех дебютного альбома,а также ска-сборников в которые вошли песни с него, способствовал
росту популярности группы по всей Европе. Музыканты принимали участие в фестивалях в
Англии, Голландии, Германии, Франции и Бельгии, и завоевали себе репутацию одной из лучших
ска-групп в Европе .
В начале 1994 года вышел второй альбом - "Lock,Stock and Barrel",который некоторые
музыкальные издания признали лучшим ска-альбомом года.В поддержку этого альбома группа
проводит мощный тур по Европе.
В июле 1995 года выходит сингл "The Street Where I'm Living",ставший своего рода "визитной
карточкой" группы.
В ноябре 1995 года германская студия Groover Records выпускает в свет первый концертный
альбом Mr.Review "Keep The Fire Burning".
В 1998 году таже студия выпускает альбом "One Way Ticket To Skaville", представляющий собой
компиляцию из трёх предыдущих альбомов,в который вошли и две новые песни: Ships That Pass In
The Night и Virgin Ska.

in the street where I'm living I feel there's something in the air a tension is getting steadily stronger my sences tell me better take care this is the street where I'm living here I was born and played as a child in this street no one ever bothered about skin coloured black or white you may pretend you haven't seen you may pretend you haven't heard but the day they proudly fly their flag oh, you damn well know that people get hurt now there is a voice from the shadow safe from where it can not be seen its inflammatory words hit target untill division takes command of this street this is the street where I'm living where I was born and played as a child this is the street where I'm living see how the dark clouds gather in the sky there's a riot, I see fear on the faces while sirens scream and people run by the street where I'm living is on TV cause there's a house on fire
